SipIt
Community Guidelines
SipIt is a community for discovering, creating, and sharing beverage recipes. These Community Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed on SipIt.
They apply to all content and activity on SipIt, including:
- usernames and profile information;
- homemade recipes;
- franchise customization recipes;
- recipe titles and descriptions;
- ingredients and instructions;
- recipe notes;
- photos;
- reports;
- interactions with other users; and
- any other content submitted through SipIt.
These Guidelines are part of the SipIt Terms of Service. By using SipIt, you agree to follow them.
1. Be Respectful
Treat other users with respect.
Do not post or engage in:
- bullying;
- harassment;
- threats;
- intimidation;
- stalking;
- personal attacks;
- targeted humiliation;
- repeated unwanted contact; or
- content intended to provoke or distress another person.
Disagreement is allowed, but abusive behavior is not.
Do not encourage other users to harass, report, or target a person or account.
2. No Hate Speech or Discrimination
SipIt does not allow content that attacks, dehumanizes, threatens, excludes, or promotes hatred against people based on characteristics such as:
- race;
- ethnicity;
- nationality;
- religion;
- caste;
- sex;
- gender;
- gender identity;
- sexual orientation;
- disability;
- serious medical condition; or
- immigration status.
Slurs and hateful stereotypes are not permitted when used to attack or demean another person or group.
3. Share Safe Beverage Content
Recipes and preparation instructions must not intentionally encourage dangerous consumption or unsafe preparation.
Do not post recipes that contain toxic or non-food substances, conceal dangerous ingredients, encourage unsafe preparation or dangerous overconsumption, create a serious risk of injury, or falsely claim that a dangerous recipe is safe.
SipIt is for non-alcoholic beverages. Recipes containing alcohol or instructions for alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Disclose raw ingredients, high caffeine, allergens, and other material risks where relevant.
SipIt may remove content that appears dangerous, even if it was intended as a joke or challenge.
4. Be Honest About Ingredients and Recipes
Do not intentionally misrepresent ingredients, quantities, preparation, allergen or dietary claims, franchise menu items or customizations, or the expected result of a recipe.
You may share personal opinions and estimates, but do not present guesses as verified facts.
For example, do not label a recipe as allergen-free, sugar-free, vegan, dairy-free, or caffeine-free unless you have a reasonable basis for doing so.
SipIt does not independently verify every recipe. Users remain responsible for checking ingredients, allergies, and preparation safety.
5. Respect Allergies and Dietary Needs
Do not mock or target users because of allergies, dietary restrictions, medical conditions, or food preferences.
When relevant, identify ingredients that may cause allergic reactions or conflict with a dietary claim.
Allergen information may be incomplete or inaccurate. Users should always verify ingredients independently.
Do not give medical advice or claim that a beverage can diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a medical condition unless the claim is legally permitted and supported by appropriate evidence.
6. No Self-Harm or Dangerous Challenges
Do not post content that encourages, glorifies, instructs, or assists:
- suicide;
- self-harm;
- eating-disorder behavior;
- intentional starvation;
- dangerous overconsumption;
- poisoning;
- harmful beverage challenges; or
- other conduct likely to cause serious injury.
Content that supports recovery or encourages someone to seek help may be allowed when presented responsibly.
SipIt may remove content and take additional action when there appears to be an immediate safety concern.
7. No Sexual or Exploitative Content
Do not post:
- pornography;
- sexually explicit images or descriptions;
- sexual solicitation;
- non-consensual intimate content;
- sexual exploitation;
- fetish content unrelated to SipIt’s purpose; or
- content that sexualizes minors.
Any sexual exploitation of a minor is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the appropriate authorities as required by law.
8. No Graphic Violence
Do not post graphic or gratuitous depictions of:
- serious injury;
- mutilation;
- death;
- animal cruelty; or
- extreme violence.
Limited non-graphic content may be allowed when it has a clear educational or safety-related purpose.
9. Protect Personal Information
Do not share another person’s private or identifying information without permission.
This includes:
- home addresses;
- personal phone numbers;
- private email addresses;
- passwords;
- authentication codes;
- financial information;
- government identification numbers;
- school or work schedules;
- precise location information;
- private conversations; or
- confidential documents.
Do not threaten to expose another person’s private information.
Avoid including sensitive information in photos, including mail, identification cards, receipts, computer screens, license plates, or location details.
10. Respect Image Privacy
Only upload photos that you have the right to use.
Before uploading a photo featuring another recognizable person, make sure you have permission to share it.
Do not upload:
- secretly recorded images;
- intimate images shared without consent;
- images used to harass or embarrass another person;
- images of minors in inappropriate contexts; or
- photos that expose private information.
When photographing drinks in a public location, respect the privacy of people who may appear in the background.
11. Respect Copyright and Other Rights
Only post content that you created or have permission to use.
You are solely responsible for the content you upload and must ensure you have the rights to post it. SipIt does not claim ownership of user content and does not knowingly permit copyright-infringing content. If SipIt receives a valid copyright complaint, SipIt may remove or disable access to the reported content and may take action against repeat infringers.
Do not upload or copy:
- another creator’s recipe text without permission;
- another person’s photographs;
- copyrighted illustrations or graphics;
- paid or private recipe content;
- content copied from another app or website;
- brand assets used in a misleading way; or
- content that violates trademark, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights.
You may take inspiration from existing recipes, but you should write your own description and instructions and give credit where appropriate.
Giving credit does not automatically give you permission to copy protected content.
12. Franchise and Brand Content
SipIt allows users to share beverage customizations involving third-party brands, including Starbucks and Dunkin’.
You may accurately identify a brand, menu item, or customization for recipe-sharing purposes.
However, do not:
- claim to represent a brand when you do not;
- create a fake official brand account;
- imply that a recipe is officially approved or sponsored when it is not;
- use a brand’s logo in a misleading way;
- falsely claim that SipIt is affiliated with a brand;
- intentionally provide false menu information; or
- use franchise-related content to deceive users.
Availability, ingredients, prices, and customization options may vary by location.
Before ordering or consuming a beverage, verify current menu availability, ingredients, allergens, pricing, and preparation details directly with the applicable store or official brand source.
Starbucks and its related names and marks are owned by Starbucks Corporation or its affiliates. Dunkin’ and its related names and marks are owned by Dunkin’ Brands or its affiliates.
SipIt is independent and is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, sponsored by, operated by, or supported by Starbucks, Dunkin’, or their owners or affiliates. Those companies do not review, approve, verify, or support SipIt, its menu data, recipes, customizations, or user content.
See the Third-Party Brand Disclaimer.
13. No Impersonation
Do not impersonate:
- another SipIt user;
- a public figure;
- a content creator;
- a business;
- a franchise employee;
- SipIt staff;
- a brand; or
- another organization.
Fan, parody, and commentary accounts must be clearly identified when there is a reasonable possibility of confusion.
14. No Spam or Scams
Do not use SipIt to post or distribute:
- repetitive or irrelevant content;
- misleading promotions;
- fraudulent offers;
- fake giveaways;
- phishing attempts;
- pyramid schemes;
- deceptive links;
- requests for passwords or verification codes;
- malicious downloads;
- fake account-recovery messages; or
- attempts to obtain money or personal information through deception.
Do not repeatedly post the same recipe or content to manipulate visibility.
15. No Unauthorized Advertising
Reasonable references to products or ingredients used in a recipe may be allowed.
However, do not use SipIt primarily for:
- unsolicited advertising;
- repetitive promotional posts;
- affiliate-link spam;
- undisclosed paid promotion;
- mass solicitation;
- selling unrelated products or services; or
- directing users to suspicious external websites.
If SipIt later provides tools for sponsored or promotional content, users must follow all applicable disclosure requirements.
16. No Manipulation of Engagement
Do not artificially increase or manipulate:
- likes;
- saves;
- reports;
- rankings;
- recommendations; or
- trending status.
Prohibited behavior includes:
- using bots or scripts;
- operating coordinated fake accounts;
- buying or selling engagement;
- exchanging engagement through manipulation groups;
- repeatedly liking your own content through other accounts; and
- submitting coordinated false reports against another user.
SipIt may hide content or disable accounts involved in manipulation.
17. No Bots, Scraping, or Service Abuse
Do not use automated tools to:
- create accounts;
- upload content;
- collect user information;
- scrape recipes or images;
- manipulate engagement;
- overload SipIt’s systems;
- test stolen credentials; or
- interfere with security protections.
Do not attempt to:
- bypass login requirements;
- access another user’s account;
- discover private information;
- exploit vulnerabilities;
- reverse engineer protected portions of SipIt; or
- disrupt the Service.
Security concerns should be reported privately to SipIt rather than publicly exploited.
18. Use Accurate Profiles
Your profile should not intentionally mislead other users.
Do not use profile information that:
- impersonates another person;
- falsely claims professional credentials;
- falsely claims affiliation with SipIt or a brand;
- includes hateful or sexually explicit language;
- exposes another person’s private information; or
- directs users to scams or harmful content.
SipIt may remove or require changes to usernames or profile images that violate these Guidelines.
19. Profile and Preference Information
Age range and gender are optional. Selected beverage interests are used to personalize recommendations.
Do not enter false information for the purpose of:
- evading age restrictions;
- impersonating another person;
- targeting or harassing users;
- manipulating recommendations; or
- gaining access to restricted features.
Do not pressure other users to disclose personal profile information.
20. Minors
SipIt is intended for users who are at least 16 years old.
Do not:
- encourage a person under 16 to create an account;
- request private information from a minor;
- attempt to move a minor’s conversation to a private or external platform for inappropriate purposes;
- post exploitative content involving minors; or
- engage in grooming or predatory behavior.
Content involving apparent child exploitation will be reported to law enforcement or child-protection organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children where required by U.S. law.
SipIt does not offer private messaging. Do not use SipIt to solicit private contact with minors or move interactions with minors to external platforms for inappropriate purposes.
21. Reporting Recipes and Users
SipIt allows users to report recipes and user accounts that they reasonably believe violate these Community Guidelines or the SipIt Terms of Service.
Users may submit:
- a recipe report for content that may be unsafe, inappropriate, misleading, infringing, or otherwise prohibited; or
- a user report for account activity or behavior that may violate SipIt’s rules.
When submitting a report, users should select the most relevant report reason and provide accurate information where additional details are requested.
Do not use SipIt’s reporting tools to:
- harass another user;
- retaliate against another user following a disagreement;
- submit knowingly false or misleading claims;
- manipulate the visibility of recipes;
- target a user through coordinated reports; or
- interfere with the normal operation of the Service.
SipIt has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
Submitting a report does not guarantee that content will be hidden or that an account will be disabled.
Reports are reviewed by SipIt as promptly as reasonably practicable. SipIt may reject or hide content, require profile changes, or disable account access when a violation is confirmed or reasonably suspected.
SipIt may consider the reported content, the surrounding context, the reported user’s activity, prior violations, and any other information reasonably relevant to the review.
SipIt may not provide the reporting user with detailed information about the investigation or any action taken against another user.
22. Blocking Users
SipIt allows signed-in users to block other user accounts where the feature is available.
Blocking a user may hide that user’s recipes and related content from your feed, search results, saved-recipe views, and other areas of SipIt where blocked-user filtering is supported.
Blocking does not notify the blocked user, does not remove the user’s content for everyone, and does not replace reporting. If a recipe or user violates these Guidelines, please submit a report in addition to blocking.
23. Review and Enforcement
SipIt reviews recipe and user reports and may take action when content or conduct violates these Community Guidelines, the Terms of Service, applicable law, or the safety of the SipIt community.
Depending on the nature, severity, frequency, and context of a violation, SipIt may:
- reject or hide a recipe;
- remove or require changes to profile information;
- disable an account’s access to the Service;
- preserve relevant information for an investigation;
- refer serious conduct to appropriate authorities; or
- take other reasonable action necessary to protect SipIt and its users.
Not every report will result in enforcement. Content or an account may remain available if SipIt determines that there is insufficient evidence of a violation or that the reported activity does not violate SipIt’s rules.
SipIt may take immediate action without prior warning when content or conduct presents a serious legal, security, or safety risk.
When deciding what action to take, SipIt may consider:
- the seriousness of the violation;
- whether the conduct was intentional;
- whether the violation caused or could cause harm;
- whether the user has committed previous violations;
- whether the user attempted to correct the issue;
- the context in which the content was posted; and
- applicable legal obligations.
24. Automated Text Moderation
SipIt uses automated text moderation before a recipe is published, or when a private recipe is made public. If the text is flagged, the recipe is not published until it is edited. Usernames are checked against SipIt’s list of blocked and reserved terms. The information processed by third-party services is described in SipIt’s Privacy Policy.
Automated moderation systems may make mistakes. Content may be incorrectly flagged, rejected, or allowed.
Automated moderation results may be considered together with reports and manual review. SipIt makes enforcement decisions based on the available information and surrounding context, and may make additional moderation decisions where appropriate.
25. Review Requests
You may ask SipIt to review a moderation decision by emailing sipit.app.official@gmail.com with the affected content or account, the decision you dispute, and relevant context. A request does not guarantee reversal.
26. Emergencies and Illegal Activity
SipIt is not an emergency service.
If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
SipIt may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law;
- respond to valid legal process;
- prevent serious harm;
- investigate fraud or unauthorized access;
- protect users; or
- report suspected child exploitation or other serious illegal activity.
27. Changes to These Guidelines
SipIt may update these Community Guidelines as the Service changes or new safety concerns arise.
When we update the Guidelines, we will revise the Effective Date at the top.
Material changes may be announced through the application or another reasonable method.
Your continued use of SipIt after updated Guidelines take effect means you agree to follow the updated version.
